Milestone TeachersThe venue licence

A gathering worth planning

A quiet post room.
A town waiting.
Your next family event.

Bring families together to solve The Midnight Post: an original, cooperative mystery about a letter that must reach its destination.

Free working sample · No account · Designed for ages 8+ with adult support

An illustrated lamplit post room, with letters waiting beneath a window overlooking the harbour at night.

The invitation

Give everyone a part in the story.

The Lantern Festival’s opening letter is safe. Its address tag is not where it belongs. Teams inspect building clues, compare delivery routes, turn a postal seal and reconstruct a courier handoff.

Read aloud, notice something someone else missed, and agree on the evidence. Four answers unlock the final dispatch. No actors, locks, countdown or competitive leaderboard required.

One event. Ready to make your own.

The experience, the host notes
and the invitation.

01

The event on screen

A self-contained HTML player with four evidence stations, optional hints and answer feedback. Open the downloaded file in a current browser. It works offline and resets for the next group.

02

A paper route, too

Nine PDF pages: setup, four player sheets, separate hints and answers, and the final reveal. Print the four player pages per team; the facilitator keeps the answers.

03

Your public invitation

An editable poster for your venue, date and booking details, plus invitation copy. Poster details stay in your browser. Print it or save it using your browser’s print controls.

04

The words behind it

Editable facilitator notes and story source let you adjust language for your participants. Keep an original copy and recheck answers after changes. Source edits do not automatically rebuild the player or PDF.

From download to gathering

Rehearse.
Invite.
Open the post room.

  1. Choose screen or paper. Extract the ZIP and open the player, or print the team evidence. Rehearse all four puzzles before advertising a session length.
  2. Set up for participation. Offer read-aloud support. Let people share the jobs of reader, evidence checker and recorder. Hints are part of the experience.
  3. Run it again with a new group. One venue can host this fixed story repeatedly. There is no subscription or per-event fee.

For libraries and community venues

One venue.
As many gatherings
as you want.

A single physical branch or venue may run the event repeatedly, including free, ticketed and fundraising events. Staff and volunteers at that venue can facilitate it.

You provide printing, devices if used, staffing and supervision. This is a downloadable event, not an on-site facilitator service.

Before you plan a date

A few useful details.

How long does it take?

Public-session duration has not been measured. Rehearse with your team and choose a session length that suits your audience. The event is untimed, so people can discuss and use hints without penalties.

Who is it for?

It is designed for ages 8+ with adult reading and calculation support. Try the sample to judge the language and puzzle style for your group. It has not yet been playtested with a public family audience.

Does each run create a new mystery?

No. This is one fixed story for repeated use with new groups. It does not generate fresh puzzles or include future releases.

Do participants need accounts or phones?

No. A team can gather around one screen, or use printed player sheets with a facilitator. No participant names or personal information are needed.

Can our library network share one purchase?

The licence covers one physical venue. Each additional branch needs its own licence. Keep the full digital files and answers within the licensed venue’s staff and volunteer team. You may share your completed promotional poster publicly.
